Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor on WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials.
